For the price alone the firestarter is worth it and then you get the blade and a whistle its fantastic. The knife holds an edge but dulls quite easily but aslong as you can sharpern it your in the clear. I used this knife when i went camping in snowdonia and using the firestarter was great it worked perfectly and the knife helped by making feather sticks. All together this is a great peice of kit.

As for the product, for £10 I’m impressed. The knife is full tang and wouldn’t bend after trying to apply pressure to it, which gives me confidence. I love the corded handle, I think it looks great especially as I plan on taking it with me Wild Camping, so it fits in more style wise. I don’t expect to be using it for cutting trees or anything, more for kindling and fishing but it’ll be a fab thing to have on hand. The sheath is perfect for what it is and for the price, it can be placed on your belt using the loop at the back and the firestarter is a nice bonus (although I’ll be using matches, but it’s always good to have a backup).

Solid, thick tanto blade, firestarter/whistle all good. Note (for those who may not know) you need to initially have scraped off the black-coating on firestarter-rod to expose the silver material underneath – then sparks a-plenty 🙂
